They have their own brand, which is reasonable in quality and price.
WinCo is cheaper than Sam's Club and Costco. This is because in addition to regular deals and promotions, it does not charge for membership fees.

WinCo's Beginnings
WinCo Foods, is a well-known employee-owned supermarket chain.
It began its journey in 1967 in Boise, Idaho. Originally founded as Waremart by Ralph Ward and Bud Williams, the store operated with a no-frills, warehouse-style model focused on providing groceries at the lowest possible prices.
In 1985, a major shift occurred when employees formed an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) and acquired a controlling interest in the company, paving the way for WinCo’s unique employee-owned structure.
This move fostered a strong culture of shared responsibility and long-term investment.
The company rebranded to WinCo Foods in 1998—short for "Winning Company"—to reflect its growth and distinguish itself from similarly named businesses.
Over the years, WinCo expanded steadily across the western United States.
