Florida's Beaches

Florida is renowned for its beautiful beaches, attracting millions of visitors annually.

With its extensive coastline along the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, Florida offers a diverse range of beach experiences to suit different preferences.

If you look at the area along the bend, between Apalachicola and Spring Hill, on the Gulf of Mexico side, you will notice there are no beaches labeled.

This area has beautiful shorelines, but they are not sandy beaches. These are estuaries, marshes, and grasslands.

They are not densely populated or sought after by many tourists. These are mainly National Wildlife Refuges and reserves.

If you want to visit them or discover what they are about, check out this Florida Parks page!

The other colors on the map suit other uses for the beaches. Some beaches are in National Parks, others in State Parks. Some are managed by a city, and others are protected by the United States Military.

Nevertheless, most of them are for locals and visitors to enjoy.
