Florida's Most Prominent Counties
Florida, also known as the "Sunshine State," is located in the southeastern region of the United States.
It is the third most populous state in the country and is known for its diverse landscapes, beautiful beaches, and vibrant cities.
Florida is divided into 67 counties, each with its own unique characteristics and attractions.
As you can see on the map, the counties do not end at Florida's shores. Florida state waters are from shore to 3 nautical miles on the Atlantic Ocean and from shore to 9 nautical miles on the Gulf of Mexico.
The Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) and federal waters extend from state waters to about 200 nautical miles.

Miami-Dade County
